Last Updated: July 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using CaseForward (the "Service"), including our website, apps, and documents, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms at any time. Your continued use means you accept the changes.
2. What CaseForward Is and Is Not
2.1 We Are Not a Law Firm
CaseForward is a self-help document preparation service. We are not a law firm, do not employ attorneys, and do not hold ourselves out as providing legal services.
2.2 We Do Not Provide Legal Advice
We do not provide legal advice. We do not analyze your legal situation, tell you what rights you have, explain how the law applies to you, or recommend legal strategies.
No legal advice is given by CaseForward when we:
- Assemble or generate a document form
- Check spelling, grammar, and completeness
- Explain what information goes in each blank
- Answer questions about how to use the Service itself
2.3 No Attorney-Client Relationship
Using CaseForward does not create an attorney-client relationship with CaseForward, our employees, or anyone else. You do not have attorney-client privilege, and nothing you tell us is protected by legal confidentiality rules.
2.4 Self-Help Service
CaseForward provides self-help document preparation. This means:
- You choose which document form to create
- You provide all the information
- You decide what language appears in your document
- You make all legal decisions
- You are responsible for the contents and accuracy of your document
3. Your Responsibilities
3.1 You Represent Yourself
When you use CaseForward, you are representing yourself. You are not represented by an attorney, and CaseForward is not your attorney.
3.2 You Must Review Your Documents
You are responsible for reviewing your document carefully before signing or filing it. We strongly recommend you:
- Read the entire document word-by-word
- Confirm all information is correct and complete
- Check that all required signatures and dates are present
- Verify the document complies with your court's specific requirements
- Ask the court clerk if you have questions about court rules
3.3 You Must Verify Court Requirements
Court rules, filing fees, and procedures vary by location and case type. You are responsible for:
- Determining which court has jurisdiction over your case
- Checking your court's local rules (the court's website usually lists them)
- Confirming filing requirements, fees, and deadlines
- Determining whether a document must be notarized or certified
- Verifying that your document matches your court's current template (courts update forms)
CaseForward documents are general forms and may not match your specific court's current requirements. Always check your court's website before filing.
3.4 You May Need an Attorney
Self-help document preparation is appropriate for straightforward, uncontested matters (e.g., an uncontested divorce with no children or property disputes, a simple will, or basic incorporation).
If any of the following are true, we strongly recommend consulting a licensed attorney:
- Your case involves contested issues, disputes, or complexity
- Your situation is unclear or you are unsure which document to use
- The other party is represented by an attorney
- Children's custody, support, or safety is involved
- Significant property or money is at stake
- You have a criminal matter or court case
- You are responding to a lawsuit or court order
- State or local requirements are unclear
- You are uncertain about your rights
4. Clerical Review Only
CaseForward's review of your document is clerical only. We check for:
- Spelling and grammar errors
- Missing information
- Internal consistency (e.g., that a name is spelled the same way throughout)
- Obvious formatting problems
We do NOT:
- Review your document for legal sufficiency
- Determine whether your document is adequate for your situation
- Advise you on legal strategy
- Confirm that your document will be accepted by a court
- Ensure your document complies with the law
5. Documents and Court Acceptance
5.1 No Guarantee of Court Acceptance
CaseForward documents are based on general legal forms. No court is required to accept any CaseForward document. Courts may:
- Reject your document for not matching local requirements
- Refuse to file it because it is incomplete or unclear
- Require you to refile with corrections
- Dismiss or deny your case if your document is inadequate
5.2 Money-Back Guarantee
If a court clerk refuses to accept your CaseForward document solely because our clerical review missed an obvious error (e.g., a blank line we should have caught), we will refund your purchase price.
This guarantee does not cover:
- Rejection because your court uses a different form
- Rejection because your document does not comply with local rules
- Rejection because your situation is legally insufficient (e.g., you lack grounds for divorce in your state)
- Your decision that you want to hire an attorney instead
- Rejection because you did not complete the document correctly
To claim a refund, you must submit proof that the court refused your document, a clear explanation of the refusal, and evidence that CaseForward's clerical review missed the error.
6. Payments, Refunds, and Subscriptions
6.1 Pricing
CaseForward offers:
- One-time products: Pay once, get a document. Example: $49 for a basic will.
- Co-Parent+ subscription: Monthly or annual recurring payment for ongoing updates and access to co-parenting documents.
All prices are listed at the point of purchase.
6.2 One-Time Products
One-time purchases are non-refundable except as provided in Section 5.2 (clerical-error refund). Once you have downloaded or accessed your document, you own the file. You may print it, modify it (on your own), and use it as many times as you need.
6.3 Subscriptions
If you subscribe to Co-Parent+ or any other subscription service:
- You will be charged at the frequency you select (monthly or annual)
- Your payment method will be charged automatically on the same date each billing period
- You may cancel at any time through your Account settings
- If you cancel, you will not be charged for the next billing period
- No partial refunds are given for cancellations mid-cycle
6.4 No Hidden Charges or Auto-Renewal Traps
- We clearly state the price, frequency, and cancellation terms before you purchase
- We do not auto-enroll you in a subscription without your explicit consent
- We do not sell your payment information to third parties
- We do not hide renewal charges
6.5 How to Cancel
You may cancel any subscription immediately through your Account settings, by emailing us at admin@idamil.com, or by contacting IdaMil LLC at 13310 Riva Ct., Ashland, VA 23005. Cancellations are effective at the end of the current billing period.
7. Independent Attorney Marketplace (if offered)
7.1 Attorneys Are Independent
CaseForward connects you with independent licensed attorneys who offer limited-scope review, consultation, or representation. These attorneys are not employees of CaseForward and are not acting on CaseForward's behalf.
7.2 Limited Scope
Attorney services through CaseForward are limited in scope—for example, a 30-minute document review or a one-time consultation. Attorneys providing services are hired and paid by you, not by CaseForward. Your relationship is directly with the attorney, not with CaseForward.
7.3 Your Agreement Is with the Attorney
Any legal-advice relationship, attorney-client privilege, engagement terms, and payment are between you and the attorney. CaseForward is not a party to that relationship. If you have a dispute with an attorney, you must resolve it directly with that attorney or through your state bar.
8. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Use CaseForward to help someone else commit fraud, perjury, or illegal activity
- Use CaseForward to create documents that are knowingly false or misleading
- Violate a court order or law
- Impersonate another person or provide false identity information
- Use automated tools or scripts to access the Service
- Attempt to hack, disrupt, or damage the Service or its systems
- Reverse-engineer or copy CaseForward's documents, software, or source code
- Violate anyone's privacy or intellectual property rights
- Harass, threaten, or abuse anyone through the Service
CaseForward may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms.
9. Important Limits on What We Provide
CaseForward is a self-help service, not a law firm. So you know exactly what you are and are not getting:
- We do not review your documents for legal sufficiency, and we do not guarantee that a court will accept any document. Courts set their own requirements, and only you (or a licensed attorney you hire) can confirm that a filing is right for your situation.
- Legal information on our site is general and may not be current or complete for your state or county. Always verify against your state's official source.
- Like any online service, we cannot promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
We stand behind our work: if a document we prepared contains a clerical error we made, we will correct it, and our court-acceptance guarantee is described at checkout.
We do NOT disclaim the warranties the law gives you, and we do NOT cap, limit, or exclude the remedies or damages available to you as a consumer. Nothing in these Terms limits your right to hold us responsible for harm we cause. *(This is intentional: as a self-help document provider we do not use "as is" warranty disclaimers or damages caps, consistent with consumer-protection safe-harbor standards. Confirm final wording with counsel.)*
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You and CaseForward consent to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Hanover County, Virginia, but nothing in this section prevents you from bringing a claim in your home state or in small claims court.
11. Consumer Complaints
11.1 How to Complain
If you have a complaint about CaseForward, please:
- Email us first: admin@idamil.com
- Write us: IdaMil LLC, 13310 Riva Ct., Ashland, VA 23005
- Describe the problem: Explain what went wrong, when it happened, and what you have tried to fix it
We will respond within 30 days.
11.2 Complaints About Unauthorized Practice of Law
If you believe CaseForward is engaging in the unauthorized practice of law (e.g., giving you legal advice, creating an attorney-client relationship, or holding itself out as a law firm), you may file a complaint with your State Bar of Virginia.
Contact information for state bars is available at the American Bar Association.
What is unauthorized practice of law? It generally means:
- Giving legal advice
- Representing someone in court or legal proceedings
- Charging a fee for legal services without a license
- Creating an attorney-client relationship
CaseForward is designed to avoid all of these by providing self-help document preparation only, not legal advice.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of CaseForward after the update means you accept the new terms. The date at the top of this page shows when these terms were last updated.
